About Philip Alexander and Sing, Play, Grow!

Singer/songwriter/storyteller and multi-instrumentalist, Philip Alexander performs his lively original songs and stories for children throughout New England.  Kids and parents love to sing, dance and laugh-along while enjoying an exciting variety of sounds, as Philip plays guitar, harmonica, ukulele, dulcimer, ocarina, djembe drum, bamboo flute and boomwhackers!  Philip entertains crowds large and small at schools, libraries, festivals and private events, performing solo or with his unique and talented “Family Band” which features the sweet harmonies of his wife and daughter, backed by a rockin’ rhythm section!   Philip also offers music enrichment sevices to schools and camps in the Greater Boston area, and since 2005 offers parent/child music classes in the Greater Boston Area. All of these Sing, Play, Grow! programs are based on three firm beliefs:

2) Active music making is good for the body, mind and soul.

3) Learning happens best in a creative, fun, and nurturing environment.

An alumni of Berklee College of Music, Boston where he studied composition, Philip now lives on Boston’s North Shore with his wife and three children.  When he’s not busy playing music for a live audience, you might find him strumming his ukulele on the beach, swimming or even catching waves on his surfboard, at least on those rare days when the water is over 50°F and the surf is up in New England!
